Robert Half & ACCA launch women in accounting and finance survey results

Ref. NE-01635

The ACCA and Robert Half Women in Accounting and Finance Survey 2009 was launched to coincide with International Women's Day 2009.

In addition to addressing some of these important issues such as equal opportunities and leadership aspirations for female accounting and finance professionals, this research collaboration wanted to ascertain whether the proverbial "glass ceiling" is finally cracking.

Key findings:

  • Work-life balance the top priority (59%) for female accounting and finance professionals
  • 68% of participants expect to progress their career in the next five years
  • However, 45% do not think they will reach a senior management position, such as a Directorship, within finance and accounting
  • Only 49% of participants claim their organisations have a formal equal opportunities / diversity policy
