The Company
Our client is a major global player in the insurance and financial services sector.
The Role
Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Finance Manager assumes

primary responsibility for a range of financial management functions in the branch, including GL management (French and local GAAP), GST reporting, preparation of local statutory MAS returns and external audit. The role includes management of a full set of accounts for the Singapore branch of Matrix, a subsidiary of Corporate Solutions that provides risk engineering services. In addition, the candidate will work with the CFO to review and enhance existing finance department controls and processes, and provide support, guidance and technical review for junior colleagues.
The role carries a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to the following tasks:
  • GL Management / monthly closing of French and local GAAP accounts
  • Corporate Solutions and Matrix (Singapore branches)
  • Preparation of quarterly, annual and ad-hoc MAS returns for a direct general insurance branch.
  • Liaise with other departments within the branch (claims, underwriting, policy management) in order to amend internal processes so data quality is improved.
  • Manage the annual external audit for Corporate Solutions and Matrix (Singapore branches)
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of quarterly GST returns
  • Work with head office and IT on enhancements to financial reporting systems.
  • Accurate and timely submission of financial, management and head office reports
  • Review and preparation of corporate tax
  • Supervise and review work of junior accountant
  • Contribute to the development / implementation of compliance and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Assisting other team members with regular Ad-hoc projects/tasks.
Your Profile
  • CPA qualified.
  • Experience managing a full set of accounts for a direct general insurer.
  • Sound knowledge of RBC I and experience in the preparation of MAS returns.
  • Familiarity with Singapore GST and quarterly returns.
  • Experience in budgeting a forecasting.
  • Experience in preparation of company tax returns.
  • Relevant audit experience, preferably in Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Excellent analytical, computer and communication skills.
  • Experience in the management of small teams.
