With global presence in strategic locations and extensive network in the market, this is a dominant player with the maritime industry. There is now a fantastic opportunity to join them as a Cost Accountant for a newly created business unit.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and working in a team, you will be involved in establishing standard costs, monthly tracking of labor and direct/indirect costs and its allocation to various projects, track project profitability cost & prepare profitability report. Reconciliation of actual costs to standard costs. Review and posting of monthly cost allocation entries. Preparation & review of monthly variance reports. Manage the inventory accounting and reconciliation to physical stock. Oversee Fixed Asset accounting, including requests for capex spend, fixed asset maintenance and reconciliation of fixed asset register to physical assets. Manage the accounting and control processes for the sale of scrap product.
To qualify for this role, you must have a Degree in Accountancy with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in costing ideally within a manufacturing, marine or energy industry. We are looking for a meticulous, hands-on, analytical and an experienced Cost Accountant who can work well in a team. Prior experience in standard costing, inventory cost accounting, fixed asset accounting and ability to work with multiple stakeholders will be essential. There will be 20% travelling required for this role.
