Our client is a leader in the energy market with a proven track record in both developing and developed markets. As part of their expansion plans, they are recruiting a Senior Manager for Fuel Analysis to be part of their dynamic team.
Reporting to the Head of Department, you will be responsible for overseeing fundamental analysis of global fuels market with a focus on thermal coal and LNG. In this role, you will be part of the team in supporting activities and profitability of a centralized fuel trading team, development of short and long-term fuel price scenarios in driving operational and investment decisions. In addition, you will develop and maintain the fundamental supply/demand models, utilize advanced modelling techniques in collaboration with the Date Science team as well as support fuels traders with market views and key fundamental price drivers. Last but not least, you will also support the power markets specialists in their analysis of power markets and generation optimization and work with the Strategy team to develop assumptions and scenarios for long term fuels prices, thereby supporting future assets and acquisition decisions.
As the successful candidate, you will have a degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience with the energy industry with either a consulting/research firm, investment banking and/or energy producer. Strong analytical skills and an excellent understanding of the drivers of fuel prices such as short run marginal costs, long term cost of new capacity, electricity generation, freight and terminal/port cost, impact of fuel qualities, etc. You will also have experience in building and maintaining fundamental supply/demand models. Strong communication and presentation skills will be essential.
